Dandeli is a small city in the Indian state of Karnataka, situated near the western ghats. It is well renowned for its abundant natural resources, dense forests, and wildlife sanctuaries. Karnataka Tourism has designated it as a tourist destination for the past several years; there are many resorts offering a wide range of activities and other facilities. In addition, a variety of wildlife species call Dandeli home, including black panthers, elephants, monkeys, and hornbills—a symbol of pride for Dandeli natives—which are found only in tropical regions of Asia, Africa, and Melanesia.
